Eli Mary

Originally from Johannesburg, South Africa, Eli Mary inherited her love of music from her parents, who encouraged her to study classical piano from an early age. After completing her Bachelors in Jazz Performance from the University of Cape Town, Eli took a break from studying to begin writing and forming her own musical voice. "The Pursuit" was her first release, a video series that fused live jazz keyboard and vocal performances with electronic and soul production. "Vulnerable", her first single, followed shortly after. After sharing the stage with prominent South African jazz musicians and being inspired by music from the likes of Moonchild, Charlotte Day Wilson, Anomalie, Jacob Collier and Brad Mehldau, Eli seeks not so much to fit into a genre of music, but to open the floor for expression and experimentation.
